4.0 out of 5 stars 12 inch Pandigital Digital Picture Frame, March 16, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Pandigital PAN1200DWFR 12-Inch Digital Picture Frame (Espresso) (Electronics)
The picture frame arrived from Amazon very well packaged and in good time. I purchased this particular picture frame for its large size and large internal memory. The frame comes with a 1GB internal memory which holds many pictures depending on what resolution they were originally photographed in. The frame also has flash memory input and SD memory card input. All in all, the picture frame will hold as many pictures as one is willing to purchase memory for.

Setup was fairly straightforward using the enclosed instructions. However, initially the remote did not work. I made sure the battery was uncovered and positioned correctly back into the remote per instructions. After repeated tries I discovered the mat around the frame was blocking the infrared eye on the front of the frame. I disassembled the frame and used an x-acto blade to cut the hole in the mat. It is a critical cut as it will be seen from the front of the frame so care must be taken. This important step... Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Internal Memory Errors, No Customer Service, January 31, 2011

I was only able to write about 50 mb of photos to the one gb of internal memory. I can verify the available space but receive "no space" errors when I try to import. Customer has not been responsive - gave up on phone service after being on hold a half hour and have not received responses from email. Pictures look great when viewed from memory card or flash drive but if you're looking for internal storage or customer service look elsewhere.

This is an excellent photo frame that makes photos look great. Good color rendition, good resolution. It will play photos randomly, which I like. It's also just about the right size to set on an end table for viewing. Very easy to load with new photos--just load your photos on a small USB flash drive or photo card, stick it into the frame and it will ask you if you want to import the photos to the internal memory.

Tip: Use the free program called "Easy Thumbnails" to reduce all your photos to a smaller file size and the processor will be able to handle and display your photos easier. Plus, you can put more photos on the internal memory by doing it that way. Just google "Easy Thumbnails" and download it. Set your file size to 800 x 800 and that will reduce them perfectly.

2.0 out of 5 stars Key features are missing, promo video is misleading, December 26, 2011

Customer Video Review Length:: 5:06 Mins

I purchased two of these for gifts, both to be used as baby monitors. You have two components - the frame and the camera, each with it's own power adapter. The frame also has a mini remote control.

The camera: Plays the typical MIDI sounding nursery rhymes and lullabies. Very narrow field of view. We had to mount it 6 feet above the crib to see the entire thing (just your typical crib.) To mount it, there are two screw mounting slots in the base. You can mount it on a wall or put it on a shelf. Low light quality is also decent.

Frame: Accepts USB key and SD card. Plays slide shows and lets you do a screen grab from the monitor. The left side shows a calendar or a slide show. The right side shows a clock in the lower 1/3rd and the video feed in the other 2/3rds. Unlike the video and photos show, this can NOT be changed. The video feed can't be moved or resized and the clock can't be moved or the style changed. Four different people... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Idea, Almost Perfect, December 17, 2011

This review is from: Motorola MFV700 7-inch Digital Frame with Video-In-Picture and Wireless DECT 6.0 Camera (Black) (Electronics)
I bought this when it was a lightning deal--$99!--and was really excited when it arrived. We've been looking for a monitor, so that we can keep an eye on our toddler when we (eventually) get her going to bed on her own. Having the monitor included in a digital picture frame (along with a calendar, clock with alarm, temperature monitor, etc.) was a huge bonus. But there are some caveats, which might not be right for everyone.

So far, very few problems linking the camera and frame--once or twice the camera feed wouldn't display, and I had to restart the frame, which isn't a big deal. The space occupied by the camera feed is pretty small, which might not be great for everyone, and the night vision, while adequate, isn't very clear--but hey, it's vision ... at night. We can see enough to know whether the kid has fallen off the bed or is sitting up. We also haven't tested the distance yet to see whether we could use it in a bigger house someday. The sound sensitivity so far is... Read more

This review is from: Motorola MFV700 7-inch Digital Frame with Video-In-Picture and Wireless DECT 6.0 Camera (Black) (Electronics)
My Husband and I have been looking for a video baby monitor for our two babies. We saw this item and fell in love with the item description. We purchased two, but after setting the first one up in our youngest babys room we didnt even bother to unpack the 2nd camera. The visual quality was awful. The night vision - even worse! We had to put 3 nightlights in his room to be able to barely see him. The screen is delayed and sometimes shows colored lines. We were under the impression that the whole frame could be used to look at baby sleeping, instead its a tiny picture in picture. This item was not made for everyday use. At night you have to prop it up at the right angle so you even see the live feed of your baby in their crib. Even with only the video feed and no pictures scrolling accross the screen its bright enough to light our entire bedroom. The last straw was the camera not picking up sound on occasion. I woke up yesterday in the early morning, when I looked over at the monitor he... Read more

Keep in mind some additonal items are needed to get this up and running. We bought a 2GB memory card from a local computer store for about $8, used a free download of Picasa to re-size down our photos while keeping the best photo quality possible, and used a laptop that has a drive for the memory card to direct download the photos to the memory card. With it being a 7 inch frame the horizontal photos came out best but the vertical shots weren't too bad either. There is some variation with the color but it's not too bad. If you don't have the ability to direct download the shots from your computer on the memory stick you will either need to download them from your digital frame (without the ability to resize and taking up more space on your memory card,) or buy another cord to go from computer to frame. All in all this was a great purchase for the price, we gave them as Christmas gifts to family and they enjoyed them a lot.

I'll say, I was never interested in a digital picture frame, until I saw one! this is the best gift to give someone who may be far away ... it makes them feel closer too. The product is great, has a remote, you set how the frame will change from screen to screen.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good Size Frame But Suffers From Display Problems, December 19, 2011
I bought this Digital Decor frame at Target for ~$35, which I thought was a good price compared to other digital frames. Setup is easy and intuitive, however I had some major issues with which pictures the frame would display.

As another reviewer stated, you need either a memory card or flash drive to plug into the frame in order for it to work. This was simply a matter of selecting the pictures I wanted (some from my camera, others from Facebook), putting them on my 8GB flash drive and plugging it into the frame. However, as soon as I plugged it in, many of the pictures would not display. Some pictures came up as red & white X's while others would display strange colors and other graphical glitches. I have no idea why this occurred and the instruction manual was of no help whatsoever. After re-saving the pictures to a brand new flash drive on a different computer, most displayed without problems but the frame still didn't "like" certain pictures. So instead of being... Read more
